The greatest show on earth!
How do I even begin to describe this? Tuesday 27th October 2009 was quite possibly the best night of my life. It was truly amazing, and I don’t use that word lightly! For those of you who don’t know, I’m a huge fan of the band Green Day. I have been a fan for around 7 years now and some people may even say I’m obsessed with them. I have always wanted to see them live but unfortunately never got the chance. Well, back in May of this year tickets were released for an upcoming tour, I just HAD to go!
My love for Green Day cannot be described in words. Just listening to them brings back so many memories of points in my life. They are the only band that I can listen to and NEVER get tired of. Green Day are the soundtrack to my life. I went to the show with my girlfriend and my parents, all of which love Green Day too! When we were actually in the arena we had to queue to get into the Standing area. At this point I was thinking “I’m actually going to see Green Day, this is crazy!” and I was worried we wouldn’t have a good spot. Oh, how wrong I was!
The spot we had was AMAZING! We were right down near the front next to the walkway, I was so excited! At 7PM the support band “Prima Donna” were on. I’m not sure if they were good or not, I was too busy thinking “this is going to be amazing!”. I think it was obvious just how excited me and Lauren were, as you can see below:

8PM finally arrived, the lights went out and it was time, “Song of the Century” played whilst the lights were down and then, there they were, Green Day were on stage! I can’t begin to describe how epic the show was, everything was perfect. I was really impressed with the setlist they had chosen to play. Here are all the songs they performed throughout the night:
Song of the Century
# 21st Century Breakdown
# Know Your Enemy
# East Jesus Nowhere
# Holiday
# The Static Age
# Give Me Novacaine
# Are We The Waiting
# St.Jimmy
# Boulevard Of Broken Dreams
# Murder City
# Hitchin A Ride
# At The Library
# When I Come Around
# Iron Man/Rio/Crazy Train Jam
# Paranoid (Black Sabbath cover)
# Brain Stew
# Jaded
# Knowledge (Operation Ivy cover)
# Basket Case
# She
# King For A Day
# Shout/Stand By Me/I Fought The Law/Teenage Kicks/Satisfaction
# 21 Guns
# Minority
# Encore:
# American Idiot
# Jesus Of Suburbia
# Encore 2:
# Last Night On Earth
# Wake Me Up When September Ends
# Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)
If you are a Green Day fan, you will realise just how amazing that setlist is. I would recommend anyone to go and see Green Day live, it’s the best show on earth! The rest of the photo’s from the night can be viewed on my Flickr Stream to the right of this post.

It’s something unpredictable, but in the end it’s right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
My trip to Spain!
Hey there everyone, thanks for stopping by! Those of you who read my previous post will know that I have recently returned from a trip to Spain. This post is basically a summary of the trip and everything that took place. Before I start, I just want clear something up about my previous post. In my previous post I said that I would be able to tweet daily as the Villa had WiFi, this turned out to be false. It was actually mobile broadband for laptop users, I don’t have a laptop…
I had to leave the house at 3AM to get in the taxi to East Midlands Airport. Trust me, words can’t describe how tired I felt at this point. It’s fair to say that when I was walking through the airport, I looked pretty grumpy…

See what I mean…? Anyway, we didn’t really have a long time to wait around for the flight which is always good, I’m not one for waiting! We just had enough time to sit down and relax before our flight, whilst trying to stay awake… Another factor that added to my increasing grumpiness was the guy at Customs. He took my backpack (As I’m wearing in the picture above) and scanned it, which is a routine procedure. I was getting ready to collect it when he scanned it again, and again, and again… He scanned it ANOTHER time (for good measure?) and gave me my bag and off I went. I know I hadn’t done anything wrong, but I felt like such a criminal, like I had something to be guilty for. This is another reason why I hate airports…
Success! We were on the plane! I was in a better mood after boarding because I knew it was the official start of the holiday. I personally hate flying but it had to be done, so I dealt with it. It was only a short flight but I had things to keep me entertained such as my iPod Touch and my girlfriend Lauren brought her Netbook along. The Netbook happened to have a Webcam, as you’ll see below…

The photo above is of me and my Dad looking rather happy next to a Flight Attendant. He doesn’t look happy however, I wonder why? The Flight actually went really well. I always worry about having a rough flight but it was really smooth. And before we knew it, we had landed in Alicante!
Let me tell you, the heat in Alicante was insane! We stepped off the plane and the heat almost knocked me over. It’s such a shock to the system to walk out into heat like that when you come from England. After getting through Customs (which went SO MUCH smoother than it did back in England) it was time to get on the Shuttle Bus to our Villa in Albir. The bus left Alicante and headed to Benidorm where it dropped off other passengers before arriving at Albir. I knew this was a good start to the week when we got stuck on a hill for what felt like forever. We were stuck behind a car who had parked sideways on a one way road. The bus also felt like it was going to tip over and fall down the hill. What a good start…
We finally arrived in Albir! After a LONG walk up the hill (whilst dragging suitcases) we made it to the Villa, which looked amazing!

I’m sure you’ll agree that the view from the Balcony was amazing! Something I was really excited for was the fact that we had our own swimming pool to chill out in after a hot day, here’s a picture of the pool!

Our holiday mainly consisted of going into the town in the day and then going for drinks at night, well apart from me, I’m only 16… Ofcourse, seeing as Lauren was turning 18, she ever so kindly got me a beer!

One thing I have to write about in this post is Lauren’s birthday. Afterall, it’s the reason for the holiday! It felt strange celebrating her 18th birthday considering she was only 15 when we met. Oh how time flies… We went into Albir on her birthday night and celebrated her birthday. She also took advantage of being 18 and had her first legal drink…

Did we make it too obvious that she was 18? I loved that night and I’m sure she did too, I know it’s long gone now but, Happy Birthday Lauren!
Obviously there’s only so much I can write in this post before my brain explodes, but there are even more photos of this on my Flickr which you can find over to the right of the page in my Flickr Stream! This holiday was amazing and I would go again, without a doubt! I apologize for taking a while to post this but hey, I’ve done it! Remember to leave comments and I’ll talk to you all soon, thanks for reading!

I’m off to Spain!
Just thought I’d post this to explain why I won’t be updating my blog for a week, I’m going on holiday with my family, my girlfriend and her family. We’re staying in a Villa in a town called Albir near Benidorm. The villa does have WiFi so I’ll still be tweeting daily but I won’t have time for my blog. Here’s a few pictures of the Villa we’re staying in.

The only bad thing is, the taxi arrives at our house at 3am to take us to the Airport. That’s right… 3am! I’m sure I’ll be fine, just a little bit grumpy. I decided to fight away the tiredness and have a little solution…

That’s right, CAFFEINE! 160mg of the stuff! If that doesn’t wake me up I don’t know what will, to be honest. Anyway, this post is just to let you all know why I won’t be updating my Blog for a week. I’ll still be active on Twitter so you’ll be hearing from me pretty soon. If you haven’t already connected with me via Twitter you can do so here:

Thanks for reading and I’ll see you all in a week!
